Hatcher Pass Summit, AK

Hatcher Pass Summit is one of Alaska’s finest attractions. It is a mountain pass that goes through the Talkeetna Mountains. As you can see, the summit is 3886 feet above sea level. The summit overlook could be reached by driving. The roads are gravel all the way up.

Once we visited the surrounding area and enjoyed the view, we decided to press on and headed to a trail that off-road in vehicles would typically take. We had planned to camp out somewhere in the mountains.

A few miles into the trail and the destination we tried to reach was nearly impossible to get to with our heavy vehicles. We reached pits just filled with muskeg. We decided to take a detour. A mile later we found a perfect spot. Below are pictures of our camp set up as well as the beautiful views!

Hello! I was born and raised on a small island called Saipan for 18 years. Shortly after my high school graduation, I joined the United States Air Force. In 2016, I separated from the Air Force and moved to Denver, Colorado. In June 2017, I took a contracting job up here in Alaska. Since then, I have been living and experiencing the wonderful lifestyle of being up North!
