Australian National Maritime Museum

If you enjoy museums, the water, and boats, then you should definitely visit the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney. The museum is owned by the Australian Federal Government and it is located on the Darling Harbour. This is a great place for families and friends to spend some quality time on any occasion. The museum offers an indoor and outdoor exhibit. Right on the harbor are old explorer boats and a submarine that visitors are allowed to board. Tours are given at certain times in the vessels.

If you hope to receive the full experience, then I suggest you plan your visit accordingly. My friends and I were only able to board a couple of the ships and the submarine because we were too late and everything else was closed. It was interesting to see how the boats were structured back in the day. I also couldn’t imagine having to live in them in such small quarters.

After a couple of hours, the heat got to us so we decided to move inside and check out what else the museum had to offer. Within the museum offered several exhibitions and it is quite unbelievable! They had a virtual reality experience, a James Cameron exhibit (ocean explorer), and many more. They are constantly adding and changing the exhibits so plenty reasons to visit the attraction more than once. I highly suggest anyone who is in the area to check it out! If you have any questions please let me know. You can also find out more information on the museum by visiting their main site at

Hello! I was born and raised on a small island called Saipan for 18 years. Shortly after my high school graduation, I joined the United States Air Force. In 2016, I separated from the Air Force and moved to Denver, Colorado. In June 2017, I took a contracting job up here in Alaska. Since then, I have been living and experiencing the wonderful lifestyle of being up North!
